Babe indulges in a few dorky family traditions during the holidays, but none she likes better than building gingerbread houses – even though hers sometimes end up looking like they should be condemned. If you’re not inclined to endure collapsing walls or runny icing, you can still gulp down or slather on some festive gingerbread treats. Nutrilicious Gingerbread Donuts Holes ($3.50 at Cosmo’s Vegan Shoppe) are great with a soy latte in the A.M. The Post Punk Kitchen has a yummy recipe if you want to bake your own vegan ginger people (check out Whole Foods if cooking’s not your bag -- their gingerbread cookies are to die for). Babe’s itching to try this gingerbread-scented body frosting from Lollibomb ($9.50 at etsy.com). And, if you’ve not yet picked out your holiday cards, she’s got just the thing – Rational Animal offers darling “Gingerbread Homes for Animals” greeting cards for $17. A portion of the proceeds benefits the Picasso Veterinary Fund, which offers care for homeless animals in New York City.
